After Quarterly Assessment
Option 1 ~ Write a blog post.
Using the links at the end go to the blog page and write a response to the prompt: You have now finished the first nine weeks of school as an eighth grade student. Is eighth grade what you thought it would be? Do you feel this year is more challenging or less challenging than seventh grade, and why? What will you do in the second nine weeks to make it better than the first?
Algebra's Blog Math 8's Blog
*Once on the blog page, you will need to click on "QA Reflection" to write and share your post.
Option 2 ~ Scientific Notation Review
Follow the link (http://www.regentsprep.org/regents/math/algebra/ao2/indexAO2.htm). Once on the page, read each of the 3 lessons: What is correct scientific notation?, Converting to and from scientific notation, and Multiplication and division with scientific notation. It would probably benefit you to take notes as you go through the lessons, because you will be completing practice problems afterwards. You will complete the two practice pages (Practice with Scientific Notation and Applied Practice with Scientific Notation) after reading the lessons.
Option 3 ~ Math Fluency Building
Follow the link (http://www.factmonster.com/math/flashcards.html). Once on the page, you must work at level 7. Complete at least 10 problems for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division before moving to a different option. You cannot use a calculator for this!
